Bishop Gorman in 42-21 Season-Opening Victory Against St. Louis

Cam Barfield made up for the losing time on Friday, scoring five touchdowns in the first half to take a 28-14 lead at the break before Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) rolled into a 42-21 win over the St. Louis (Honolulu) tour. Boston College found the finish line with 1, 57, 3 and 3 yard runs before halftime and added a 20-yard scamper in the third period, finishing the 131 yard run.

Barfield’s first-half touchdown blast has doubled his total since a year ago as Giles played two games in a coveted-short season.

St. Louis was playing its first game in two years as Hawaii canceled the fall football season of 2020 due to the epidemic.

In their second drive of the game, the Crusaders advanced 62 yards in eight games to open the scoring on 19-yards run by quarterback AJ Bianco. But just before the end of the first quarter, with a quick drive, he replied that the barfield had sunk 1 yard from the outside. The next time the ball touches the 57-yard line for 5-foot-9 back gales it makes it 14-7.

Ola Apduhan of St. Louis tied the score at 14 with a 3-yard dive and was left at 8:39, but Gels made an unanswered 14 header at intermission. The last barfield score of the half was set by Jamie Otis’ fourth-and-15 sacks which set the hosts in a good field position.

Bishop Gorman needed four plays to score as he limited Barfield’s 20-yard TD to 69-yard drive. Gales made it 42-14 early in the fourth quarter when an incorrect St. Louis snap on the punter was scooped by Palai Fowler in the last zone.
