HS Football 2021 MaxPreps California All-State Team

A player who dominated on both sides of the ball and a coach who guided one of the only undefeated teams in the state highlight the 2021 MaxPreps California All-State Football Team.

Tetairoa McMillan of Servite (Anaheim) could have been chosen for a number of different positions on this year’s all-state team. He was one of the leading receivers in the state and a monster on defense with eight interceptions. McMillan led Servite to a 10-3 record with two of the losses coming against Mater Dei (Santa Ana). He’s signed to play at Arizona and is the No. 4 ranked recruit in the state by 247Sports.

Todd Sloat of Fall River (McArthur) is the Coach of the Year. He led the Bulldogs to a 13-0 record, making Fall River one of only three teams in the state to finish unbeaten. In the state playoffs, easily defeated Le Grand 42-21 in the NorCal Regional and then handed Morro Bay a similar fate in the 7-AA Bowl Game, 43-13. Fall River, with an enrollment of 148, defeated a Morro Bay team with an enrollment of over 800 students.

Sloat’s team outscored opponents 177-40 in the postseason. Fall River has a 19-game winning streak dating back to the 2019 season and Sloat, who retired last month, has a career winning percentage of .830 (78-16).

The MaxPreps California All-State Teams consist of three teams with 26 players on each team.

First Team Offense

He was even better in the semifinals, rushing for 442 yards and six touchdowns in a win over Orange Lutheran. He finished the year with 2,628 yards on 232 carries with 41 total touchdowns.
