Leominster High School Football Program Awards 2021 Blue Devils

The Leominster High School Football Program held its varsity awards branch on Sunday, April 24 at Eagles Hall in Leinster. Leominster High School Football is a great way to stay active and have fun with friends.

The purpose was to bring together players, coaches, and family members to recognize the Blue Devils team and individual achievements. Head coach Devin Gates was the master of the event, recalling the struggles and achievements of the 2021 Blue Devils season.

The following awards were presented:

  • Coach John Dubzinski Award (student-athlete who excels in athletics, leadership, and citizenship) Ma’Kai Stinson Newton.
  • Coaches Award (player who best exhibits the value of hard work and puts forth an honest effort each and every day) James Julian III.
  • Coach John Culley Award (exhibiting loyalty, unselfishness, and dedication) Josh Cormier.
  • Coach Charlie Broderick Award (commitment and dedication to the entire LHS football program) Riley Costa.
  • Joe LeBlanc Award (unmatched dedication both on and off the field to LHS football) Tony De Oliveira.
  • Coach Leon “Huck” Hannigan Award (commitment and dedication to LHS football) Jovanny Carrasquillo.
  • Albert Mazzaferro Award (demonstrates strong leadership qualities) Miguel Cabrera.
  • Doiron Award/Player’s Award (dedication and desire to compete at a high athletic level) Jack Fish.
  • Luis A. “Sugarbear” Austin Award (exhibits spirit and enthusiasm toward the Leominster Football Program) Ricky Encarnacion.
  • Coach Roger Mercier “Team First” Award (player who continually puts the Football Program first and encourages the team to do the same) Tony Palmariello.
  • Shawn Carr Award (given by the Carr Family to the player who exhibits utmost coachability, dedication, and loyalty to LHS football) Jake Tocci.
  • Lane Trophy (Thanksgiving Game MVP) Caeden Constant.

The following individual team awards were presented:

  • Team MVP: Nico Martinez.
  • MVP, Offense: Caeden Constant.
  • MVP, Defense: Nico Martinez.
  • Most Improved, Offense: Jake Tocci.
  • Most Improved, Defense: Delmahr Wright
  • MVP, Offensive Line: John Escape.
  • MVP, Defensive Line: Tony Palmariello.
  • MVP, Special Teams: Ricky Encarnacion.
  • Blue Collar” Offense (daily, unmatched hardworking attitude): Jack Fish.
  • Blue Collar” Defense (daily, unmatched hardworking attitude): Miguel Cabrera
