Nine-game schedule waiting for the Masillon Tigers football team for the 2022 high school season

The Masillon Tigers football team are a high school football team in Massillon, Ohio. The Tigers are one of the oldest and most storied high school football programs in the country. The team has won over 25 state championships and produced numerous college and NFL players. The Massillon Tigers are a perennial power in high school football and are one of the most successful teams in Ohio history

An open week before the game at MacLean McKinley, 6 p.m. The home kickoff and two state championship teams highlight the 2022 schedule of the Massillon Tigers.

On Monday afternoon, head coach Nat Moore published a nine-match schedule on his Twitter account, the first time since 1957 that the Tigers have not played at least 10 games in a regular season. The team, coached by Lee Tresel, eventually lost 8-1 to Associated Press State pole champion Benedictine.

What Masilon may lack in a full 10-game slate is more than his competitive ability. The schedule includes two home games against the team that won the state championship in 2021.

St. Edward, who won the Ohio Division I state title last December, returns to the Paul Brown Tiger Stadium on Friday, September 16 at 5 p.m. The Eagles have been a regular part of Massillon’s regular-season schedule for the past three seasons. Consistent blows from before.

Delaware Class 3A State Champion, Middletown, arrives in Masilia on Friday, September 30th for a week 7 games. The Cavaliers have appeared in 19 Delaware State title games in their history, winning eight.

Another team, including the championship pedigree, returns to Massillon’s regular-season schedule as a season opener when Cincinnati Moyler visits Paul Brown Tiger Stadium on Friday, August 19th. The Crusaders from the 2006 game at the Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati.

The only other newcomer to the schedule is at 3 weeks, when Massillon and Mansfield Sr. will renew the fourth most played series in the history of Massillon on Friday, September 2 at Arlene Field in Mansfield. The Tigers, who have scored 43-4-5 all-time against the Tigers, have not played a game against Mansfield since 2005.

Mansfield Travel is one of two road games on Massilon’s schedule. One week ago, on Friday 26th August, the Tigers traveled to Glenwalk.

Weeks 4, 6 and 8 will show the same opponents as last year, such as Warren Harding, Austin Town Fitch and Canisius, NY., All come to Massillon. The Tigers beat Warren and Fitch a year ago when they defeated the Crusaders at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.

The current opening date for Masillon falls at 9 weeks. This gives the Tigers 14 days between the Canisius game and the 133rd meeting against arch-rivals McKinley.

According to the schedule tweeted by Moore, all Friday night games in Massillon, including the home game, will begin at 7 p.m. This is the first time the Tigers have marked a regular 7 p.m. Home kickoff after 7:30 or 8 in the previous season.

Masillon Tigers football team 11-4 is coming to the season which ended in the program’s record fifth Division II regional championship game. The Tigers have won at least 10 games in the last five years, a school record, including appearances in three title-games in a row from 2018-20.
